Summary

Recently rebranded with neighbouring Davos as "Davos-Klosters", the beautiful Swiss village of Klosters still retains its farming roots despite historic links with European royalty. Its appeal is obvious; gourmet restaurants, luxurious accommodation and good access to varied and testing ski terrain. Klosters has two main parts. Klosters Platz around the main railway station and is considered to be the main village centre, whilst Klosters Dorf, a couple of kilometres away, is much quieter.

Access

Under 2 hours by road to Zurich airport, the train service (approx. 2.5 hours) is also reliable.

Winter

The skiing offers something for all levels from great off-piste and testing mogul fields to endless well-groomed pistes and comforting nursery slopes.  The train journey up to Davos is worth the ride for the sublime views alone.

Summer

Klosters is a family friendly resort and the Davos-Klosters Active programme offers sport, culture and craft for all ages throughout the summer.

Property Market

Like many popular Swiss ski resorts, sales of property to non-residents in Klosters are limited. It is easier to buy an apartment than a chalet as a non-resident. While the architecture in nearby Davos can be angular and modern, developments in Klosters favour the traditional, alpine style with gabled roofs and decorative engravings.
