Summary

Based on the French village of Les Arcs, Borovets is a chalet-style town with ski-in ski-out accommodation and plenty of bars & restaurants. Popular with families and stag parties alike, Borovets offers something for everyone. Whilst it doesn’t have the glamour of its bigger neighbour Bansko, it has a charm all of its own. The overall atmosphere is pleasant and comes in at a fraction of the price of any comparable resort in the Alps, making it a popular choice for thousands of visitors. 

Winter

Relatively small compared to the larger ski areas of the Alps, the 58km of pistes are perfect for families, intermediates and beginners. True experts may struggle to find many challenges in Borovets, but taking on a local guide will help them discover the miles of untracked off-piste that many visitors overlook. The resort also offers two terrain parks and night-time skiing to ensure you can make the most of the slopes into the late hours of the evening too.

Summer

All Bulgarian ski resorts are making huge efforts to ensure the summer months are just as busy as the winter months. Hiking, rafting, mountain biking and mountaineering are all hugely popular and easily accessible activities, and more tourists are choosing Borovets over the busier and more expensive resorts of the Alps.
