Cluttons Launches in the French Alps

Courchevel Ski Resort France

International property consultants Cluttons have recently opened a new office in Courchevel, making their launch in the French Alps official. With a strong local market, huge interest from British buyers and a growing appetite for alpine property from the Middle East, the move into the French Alps is a natural progression as it has always been the go-to second-home region for buyers looking in the mountains.

Targeting the ski resorts of Courchevel, Chamonix, Megeve, Meribel, Val Morel and Annecy, Cluttons are able to offer their clients a broad range of alpine location for all tastes, budgets and skiing abilities.

The Courchevel office will be managed by Pierre Jean Sanchez, who has said that he is “delighted to be opening the new Cluttons office in Courchevel. Cluttons has been in operation for 250 years with operations in over 50 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. In the UK Cluttons is a household name and we look forward to taking the brand into France and offering specialist market knowledge and insight to our clients.

Joanne Leverett, Cluttons’ head of International Residential talks about the diversity of the property market in the French Alps. “Chamonix is an adventure playground for the adrenalin junkies of the mountains, a year-round vibrant town that has property available at all price points. The luxury chalet market is growing rapidly, and there are many mid-range priced properties scattered through the valley. For a more traditional ski town, medieval Megeve is another of the ski resorts Clutton’s operates in. Relaxed, chic and upmarket, the market here is mainly luxury chalets. Centred around an ice-skating rink, the village is car-free with cobbled stone streets and a beautiful church. Whilst not strictly a ski resort, Annecy is just a stone’s throw from dozens of France’s most famous (and more quietly treasured) ski towns. Known as the Venice of France, the old town is a series of buildings and bridges through which canals leading to the lake wind through. Whilst lake front properties can come at a premium, those just a few streets back are significantly more reasonable, representing property investment opportunities for all budgets.”

By setting up a mountain headquarters in the French Alps, Cluttons can now compete with other international giants Knight Frank and Savills as well as Barnes Immobilier and John Taylor
